Appointments

Initial appointments for new patients are generally 60 minutes in duration. Sometimes the initial assessment will occur over 2-3 sessions and then a diagnosis and management plan will be discussed. It is advised to attend 10 minutes earlier than the scheduled appointment time in order to complete required paperwork. Follow up appointments are generally 30-45 minutes in duration.

Appointments for Independent Medicolegal Assessments are generally 60-90 minutes in duration. It is advised to attend 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled appointment time to complete required paperwork.

Referrals

All patients require a referral which can be obtained from a general practitioner or other medical specialist. Referrals from general practitioners expire after 12 months unless otherwise specified and medical specialist referrals expire after three months. A valid referral is needed in order to be eligible for a Medicare rebate.

Fees

Dr Hendry charges the Australian Medical Association (AMA) recommended fees. A list of current fees will be provided on request. All fees are to be paid in full on the day of your appointment. Bulk Billing is not available.

Medicare Safety Net

The Medicare Safety Net means that the government will provide a higher rebate of medical outpatient services once an individual or family has spent a specific amount in a calendar year. To receive this benefit as a family, the family must be registered for the safety net. To make claiming your rebate as easy as possible, please ensure you have registered your bank account details with Medicare. This will allow the consulting rooms to forward the claim electronically to Medicare on your behalf so the rebate can be transferred into your bank account.
